The Consequences of Religion and Science Beliefs in Longitudinal Perspective

Dr. Jeremy Uecker

This study, conducted by Dr. Jeremy Uecker, examines the development of scientific beliefs and religion-science perspectives during adolescence and young adulthood, as well as the consequences of holding these beliefs and perspectives for individuals’ religiosity and socioeconomic status. The project uses panel survey data from the National Study of Youth and Religion, a four-wave study of more than 3,000 youth as they transition from adolescence to young adulthood. The project will produce several academic journal articles, conference presentations, magazine or newspaper articles, and public talks.
